Memorial Description

Roll of Honour set behind glass. The whole has been drawn by hand. There are two classical pillars at either side and a pediment across the top. At centre top is raised a semi-circle of various flags.
The dedication is carried in a panel at centre top with a flattened wreath below. To its left is a biplane in a dogfight with two men watching. On the right are three artillery pieces firing. At left of the picture, below the bi-plane, is a woman in mourning.
On the extreme right is a soldier shooting from within a trench. At bottom right is a battleship in silhouette. The names are listed in four columns with a further few in a fifth column.

Present condition

Good. Lamesley Parish Council paid for new frame.

Notes

1. The colliery has gone long since, although there is a pumping station on the site to remove underground water.
