Memorial Description

Plaque, 60cm high x 30cm wide set in wood frame. There is a double line border culminating in a pattern in each corner. Names are in a single column. Lettering is in Roman capitals for the dedication and sans serif capitals for the names.
Underneath is an additional plaque, 20cm high x 50cm wide, for 1939-45 added later. It has a single line white border. The lettering is in white Roman capitals throughout.

Notes

1. The original Jesmond Methodist Church in Clayton Street was closed and the Congregation merged with the West Jesmond Methodist in St.George’s Terrace. The name was abbreviated to simply Jesmond Methodist.

Newcastle Weekly Chronicle 01/05/1920 reports memorial service with collection for a memorial plaque and a roll of honour which “is being prepared”.
