Memorial Description
Plaque 9 inches (226mm) high x 15 inches (376mm) wide. There is a single line incised border. There is a cross at centre top. Lettering is in Roman lower case throughout.

Christopher Leather,
Lieutenant Northumberland Fusiliers,
who fell in the service of his King and Country
near Neuve Chapelle, France,
October 1914, aged 32.

Notes
1. Christopher Leather was a bachelor who rented Ingram House where he lived with his sister Rosalind. It has been suggested, but not definitely established, that Miss Leather was responsible for one of the two memorials to him, and a friend was responsible for the other.
