Unveiled July 1919 by Miss Strother, cousin to Lieut. Stewart
Plaque with dome at centre top on black pattress with angled top. At the top is incised the badge of the Royal Flying Corps. The lettering is incised and painted black using sans serif capitals throughout
1. The church was converted into a Community centre in 1998 , but the plaques remain in place.
2. “The Rev. Mr. Stewart has never lost touch with his old charge (Holy Island), and his son Vernon was a frequent visitor to the island, and when the minister entered the church, accompanied by his son, Major R. Strother Stewart, and his niece, Miss Strother, they found the building filled with a sympathetic congregation”. (Morpeth Herald re the unveiling)
