Original Location

Cemetery at junction of Thorpe Road and Stephenson Road. The memorial is on a grassed island site in front of the chapel building.

Dedication, Creation or Publication date

All these men are buried in St. Mary's Churchyard. This 'screen wall' was put up in 1981 in Thorpe Lane Cemetery when St. Mary's Churchyard was cleared.

Memorial Description

Monument of square brick construction, total height about eight feet, with marble base, top and plaques. The plaques, each 2 feet 6 inches high x 2 feet wide, are set proud. The dedication is on the front, the names are on each side. The lettering is incised in Roman capitals.
The whole is enclosed within a low white chain rail.
