Jesmond Road Primary School, Percy Street. Inside on a landing of the south east staircase outside the upper school hall on the first floor of the building.

Memorial Description

Two wood panels with deep pediment, each 2 feet 5 inches high x 1 foot 7 inches wide (736mm x 82mm) set in a wood frame 2.5 inches (64mm) wider all round. The top border is decorated with leaves and a rose each side all raised in half relief. At the bottom two corner are roundels containing in half relief (left) a shamrock and (right) a thistle. The names are painted on, the title being gilded with a shadow, the names in a single column in black upper case.

Ownership and maintenance

Given by the Council to schools for safe keeping.

Notes

1. The school opened in 1902.

2. The Memorial Tablets in oak were being placed in the Council Schools of West Hartlepool to perpetuate the memory of old scholars who made the great sacrifice.
