Memorial Description

Plaque with raised fluted edge. At centre top is a wreath raised in half relief with the dates “1914” and “1918” on each side. All lettering is in raised Roman capitals.

Notes

1. At the same time as this plaque was unveiled, another was unveiled in the Head Office in Grainger Street.

2. From the whole Company, 714 men joined up of whom 70 died.

3 Another report states that 40% of their average total staff of 1,760 had served, of whom 90 were killed. Does this refer to the same company. Some clarification would be welcome here.

4 £5,300 had been collected by various committees for the relief of dependents.
