1. "The committee and officer there had no recollection of any war memorial, but I spoke to the man who ran the place when I came to Blyth 40 years ago and he recalled it. It seems they had a queer warden at one time who probably got rid of the war memorial and a few other things!" (Letter from Jack Tait).
