Dedication, Creation or Publication date
Dedicated 2nd May 1925 by Dr. Knight, Lord Bishop of Jarrow. Col. J.R. Ritson unveiled the screen and Col. Cuthbert Headlam, M.P. for Barnard Castle, opened the gates to the chancel.
Memorial Description
Chancel screen with rood above and traceried top. There are two central doors 2 feet 10½ inches high x 1¾ inches thick. The doors are each carved through with tracery, the corners each being carved with a different design The dedication is carried above the tracery, the lettering raised in sunken panels using elaborate capital letters throughout.
