Notes

1. The information was from a printed sheet, date and source unknown, cut out and stuck onto the file on B149.03 by Simon Raine. It reads "A Book of Remembrance, containing the names of all local people killed in action during World War II, is still in preparation. When finished, it will be bound in leather and kept in a cabinet made of oak from the original pews from Bowburn Methodist Church and located, most of the time, in Christ the King Church, Bowburn".

2. Among those in attendance at the dedication was Gerry Steinberg, M.P.

3. On the day of dedication, there was a parade from The Oak Tree to the Community Centre.

4. The bookcase has apparently always been located in the Community Centre.
