1. No accompanying material indicates its provenance but there is clearly a Church Lads‘ Brigade connection and it may possibly be part of a sheet from a Church service. There are manuscript annotations on the rear, which can be seen on the photocopy which was obtained. These include “Lads list / of Brigade / St Chad’s / and “Stephen / Fred’s name on list / 73 Westminster St. / Bensham / Gateshead”.

2. On the transcript, the manuscript annotations have been shown on the list within brackets to distinguish them from the formal printing.
