Memorial Description
Plaque of inverted shield shape, set on a rectangular black pattress. The quotation at the top, which follows the shape of the tablet, encloses a central elaborate cross. The quotation at the bottom is in italic capitals, the rest is in sans serif capitals, all lettering and the cross are incised and painted black.
Below the plaque is a wooden shelf for flowers.
Materials used
White marble on black pattress.
Inscription
"Christ will link the broken chain,
Till in heaven we'll meet again".
In loving memory of
our dear son
George Clough,
who was killed in action, in France
June 29th 1916, aged 21 years.
Ever remembered by his loving
Father and Mother,
Brother and Sister.
He did his duty.
