Memorial Description

On the wall at the back of the memorial garden is a panel on which the silhouettes of two soldiers are shown. Above them is a plaque bearing the dedication. There is a poppy in the two lower corners.
Between the silhouettes is a plaque with small raised edge bearing the names of the fallen in raised Roman lower case lettering.

Above silhouettes:
1914-1918 / We will remember them. On plaque 1914-1918 / In memory of the fallen of Milfield. When you go home / tell them of us and say / for your tomorrow / w gave our today.

Source of quotation: "When you go home . ." Thought to be based on the Greek Simonides who wrote after the Battle of Thermopylae: "Go tell the Spartans, thou that passest by / That faithful to their precepts here we lie".
