Memorial Description
Small semi-circular garden. It has a raised stone edge in which are inserted to stone pigeon-carriers. Each has the words “World War I / 1914-1918” on the lid. In 2014 at centre there is a central pole bearing a tin helmet. There is also a small plaque bearing the words “To The Fallen”.
There is also a picture designed by the pupils of Easington Lane Primary School.

Notes
1. Bishopwearmouth Horticultural Nursery helped with planting. Hetton Quarry donated the stone.
2. This was created to commemorate the start of war in 1914.
3. It was accompanied by an exhibition of letters, memoriabilia etc. in the Access point building which will last for four years and hopefully will grow as people donate.
