Memorial Description

Five plaques mounted on the riverside wall beside the memorial statue. The first which bears the dedication is rectangular with the corners removed. The other four are shaped like shields, and carry the names in a single column on three and in four columns on the last. Each carries a badge of the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy or the British Army, the fourth is dedicated to civilians.

Notes

1. The names are those of people who are not listed on the war memorial.

2. The initiative came from children who were tidying the area around the main memorial and expressed disappointment that names had been omitted.
