   The death in action of Sapper Tom Harding, R.E. 
   reported. “On the night of April 8th he was engaged 
   in digging trenches, when he and five others were 
   wounded by the bursting of a shell. He was carried 
   back to the Dressing Station, but died the same night 
   from loss of blood through a severing of an artery.”

   Lieutenant Norman Ewart Charlton “was instantaneously 
   killed by a shell while returning to the trenches after 
   a successful patrol under heavy fire between the Austrian
