Sunday, 23rd September 1917 by the former Bishop of Jarrow, now Lord Bishop of Bristol. Dr Nixon.
Memorial Description
Stained glass window of a single light depicting the risen Christ. Two angels below him hold a scroll bearing the text “Underneath are the everlasting arms”. In the bottom right hand corner is the badge of the Royal Flying Corps. In the bottom left is “In desperandum auspice deo”
On the sloping sill is a plaque 16˝ inches high x 30 inches wide with blue and black border with white crosses on a red background at intervals. Lettering is in Roman capitals.

in devoted memory of their son
Rowland Burdon, seventh of that name,
Captain & Flight Commander Royal Flying Corps
who gave his life in the service of his country
at Branham in the County of Yorkshire
on the 10th day of January 1917
