Unveiled 11th November 1920 by W.Bro. Ald. J.G. Kirtley, dedicated by W. Bro. Rev. N.J. Burgess P.P.G., Chaplain.

Memorial Description

Plaque, with heavy gilded and ornamented frame. The plaque is painted in classical design with two pillars surmounted by globes dividing into three separate panels, and swags of flowers across the top of all three panels.
Outer panels contain names in a single columns for left Benedict Biscop Lodge 2975 and right Amity Lodge 3193. The central panel contains names from Williamson Lodge 949 in three columns. The names of those who died are in the box at the top of the relevant column.

Notes

1. The names include those of eleven Williamson members who made the supreme sacrifice and 115 who returned from their service, The Benedict Biscop Lodge lost one member and 27 returned, and Amity Lodge mourn five members and 42 have returned.

2. The Latin words translate as "God, King, Country"

3. Prior to its erection, the memorial was exhibited in the window of W.H. Turner & Co., Bridge Street.

4. The Burdon Road building was sold in 2006 but the Freemasonsl continue to use this part of the building.
