Memorial Description

Plaque 166 inches high x 14 inches wide (415mm x 350 mm). There is a single line border. Names are in a single column. Lettering is in gilded Roman capitals.

Notes

1. The firm later merged with Swan Hunter Shipyards. When Swan Hunter closed, the records and the memorial were lodged with Tyne and Wear Archives.

2. The Wallsend Slipway Company Ltd have well earned a high reputation for building reciprocating and turbine engines. Their works are situate[d] on the River Tyne, about half a mile to the east of the Wallsend Shipyard, covering an area of 51 acres of freehold land.
