Memorial Description

Plaque 42 inches high x 24 inches wide with rounded centre top. This is mounted on a wood pattress 45 inches high x 43 inches wide of classical design with the top echoing the shape of the central plaque. There is a wide border of repeated motif. At centre top is a laurel wreath with the dates on either side. The names are listed in two columns. The lettering is in Roman capitals.

Brass plaque on oak pattress.

1914 1919 / Our glorious dead / To the Glory of God / and in Honoured Memory of the / following men who gave their lives / for us during the Great War.
These through the gate of sacrifice entered a greater kingdom / Also in grateful recognition of all others who served.

1. St. John’s Methodist Church was closed in 1963 and demolished soon afterwards.
