Binder. Red cloth ‘Fosis’ interscrew post binder 242mm high x 350 mm wide in red leather binding with gold tooling on the front. It contains individual sheets bearing the details of the civilian deaths caused by enemy action from the Wallsend area.

   Address: Shipwright Buildings, Howdon on Tyne.  
   Male.  Schoolboy, aged 12 years.  Found 10/4/1941 at 03.45 a.m.  
   Death caused by shock caused by H.E. Bomb; buried under debris 
   of house.  
   Identified by his sister, Emily Corder.  
   Height 4 feet 1 inch.  Medium build.  Dark hair and complexion, 
   round face, short flat nose.  
   Wearing a check shirt and grey trousers.
   Buried by local authority 14/4/1941 in Church Bank Cemetery, 
   grave 265 H   Consecrated.

   Doris Wilson
   Found in a dwelling house  9/4/1941 at 23.55 p.m.  
   Female.  Probably 30 years old.  
   Died of head injury, lacerated brain.  
   Height 5 feet 2 inches, thick set build, dark hair, fair 
   complexion, round face, short nose.  
   Wearing sleeping attire.  
   Identified by her father, J. Wilson, of 29 Warwick Road, Wallsend.  
   She had underclothing and a blanket, a ring and a necklace.

   Edward Telford
   Found 10/4/1941 at 01.30 a.m. at R. Dees – F.A.P.1.  
   Male.  Probable age 48.  
   Died as a result of H.E. Bomb, with fracture of back and 
   abrasions to face and left arm.  
   Height 5 feet 10 inches, slender build, dark heir, 
   pale complexion, long nose, thin face, no teeth.  
   Wearing overalls and usual working clothes.
   Identified by his son, Thomas, of 24 O’Hanlon Crescent, 
   High Farm, Wallsend.
   He had 3s 7d  and two keys on him, and was wearing a coat, 
   trousers, shirt, vest, pants, socks, 1 shoe and overalls.

   John Richardson  
   Address: 37 Headlam Street, Willington Quay.  
   Male.  Found in Headlam Street area on 26/4/1941 at 02.00 a.m.  
   Aged probably 29 years.  Killed by H.E. Bomb.  
   Height 5 feet 9 inches, dark hair.  
   Wearing a soldier’s uniform of D.L.I.  No. 4465653.  
   Tree badge on shoulder also three red bars.  
   Clothing was 1 pair trousers, 1 shirt, 1 vest, 1 pair of pants, 
   1 pair of socks, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of braces and a hat.  
   Had two farthings on him, one chain and two crosses.  
   Body identified by C. Richardson of 25 Firtree Avenue, Howdon on Tyne.  
   Clothing and effects received by E. Richardson of 25 Firtree 
   Avenue, Howdon. 
   Note: CWG website gives: 4465653 Private John Henry Richardson, 
   16th Bn. Durham Light Infantry; died 25/4/1941 aged 29; 
   son of John and Christina Richardson of Wallsend; husband of 
   May Richardson of Willington Quay.  Buried in Wallsend (Church Bank) 
   Cemetery, Sec.I R.C. Grave 223).

   Found in Headlam Street area 26/4/1941 at 02.00 a.m.  
   Address: 10 Headlam Street, Willington Quay.  
   Female.  Probable age 67 years.  Death caused by H.E. bomb.  
   5 feet 8 inches high, thin build, grey hair, long and thin face 
   with thin nose.  She had an old scar on her right foot near 
   her little toe.  
   She had a ring and an R.C. medallion.

   Address: 26 Shaftoe Street, Rosehill.  Male.  
   Aged probably 42 years.  Death caused by H.E. bomb.  
   Height 5 feet 4 inches; slight build; dark hair, small face.  
   He was carrying a Savings Card. 2 armlets and a cufflink.

   Body claimed by G.A. Cook of 22 Ridley Avenue, Willington Quay.  
   She had a plain gold ring and a dress ring with stone.

   Height 5 feet 6 inches, medium build, grey hair, grey moustache, 
   long nose, thin face.  
   Body claimed by Florence Shand, 103 North Road, Gosforth.  
   There were no clothing or effects.

   Body claimed by his sister, Hannah Stark, 10 Diamond Street, Wallsend.  
   Had 17/4½d, 1 key and a pencil.  Wore a blue coat, blue waistcoat, 
   brown trousers, shirt, vest, pants, socks, brown shoes, 
   blue muffler with white spots.   
   Effects claimed by his sister included 4 cuff links; 
   2 ear plugs; box of matches; 1 cigarette in a box; 7 luggage 
   labels; 1 bookmaker’s price book; several newspaper cuttings.

   Probable age 19 years.  Death caused by H.E. Bomb.  
   Height 6 feet 2 inches, broad build, dark hair, normal 
   shaped face and long nose.  
   Address: 10 Headlam Street, Willington Quay.  
   Body claimed by R. Moore, 24 Phillipson Street, Willington Quay.  
   Carried 11/2½d.  Some clothing was to be disposed of.  
   Carried a gold ring, pen knife, three R.C. Medallions.

   Had £1/7/8½d, chain, pocket knife and key.  
   Wore grey coat and grey trousers, socks.  
   Effects included a pipe, tobacco, matches, 
   workmen’s meal card, check No. 1102.
