Stained glass window depicting the scene from Pilgrim’s Progress where the Pilgrim, having arrived at the Celestial City, receives the Crown of Life.
(In memory of Pte. C. Chipchase)
1. Several Methodist churches were united into the Northlands Methodist Church and the memorials were transferred there.
2. “After the 1914-18 War, the (Greenbank Rd. Methodist) Memorial Hall was built. It was opened in /1927 and was called the New Sunday School and Institute./ In the chapel, unusually, there were 6 stained glass windows to the fallen/in 1914-18. These were all from other Methodist chapels in the/ town, which became redundant and were demolished. Upstairs, the two/forward windows are a pair taken from the old Greenbank Chapel. The back two are from Rise Carr, Bondgate Chapel, including the personal memorial to Christopher Chipchase given by his parents”.
