Unveiled October 6th 1921 by Mr. J.W. Rowan, an ex-service man;
dedicated by Rev. T.H.. Lilburn, Vicar of St. Peter’s.

Materials Used:

Bronze plaque on moulded grey granite block

Who Commissioned:

Workmen and staff in each department

Sculptor, Artist or Designer:

Designed by C.S. Errington, Architect;
bronze work by Messrs. J.W. Singer and Sons, Ltd. of Frome, Somerset;
granite and granolithic work by Mr. Thomas Lumsden of Jarrow.

Inscription:

(Dedicated to the memory of colleagues who lost their lives)

Memorial Description:

Plaque on granite block with semi-circular centre top which contains a wreath raised in half relief.

Lettering is raised in relief and slightly burnished.

This panel is similar to the panels on the cenotaph at Jarrow.
