Roll of Honour. There is a wide border of decorated circles. The names of the fallen are in two columns inside a single line frame. Those who served are listed in four columns.

1. The firm celebrated its centenary in 1918. They produced a photographic record of its history including portraits of all the staff. Mr. Robert Robinson was a grocer before he was a paper merchant. He changed his trade by buying a large consignment of paper which he quickly disposed of. He opened negotiations with the paper makers and achieved such success that he abandoned the grocery section. The firm became Messrs. R. Robinson & Co.Ltd., wholesale and manufacturing stationers. The book is described as “So beautifully done are the process illustrations that they might well have been taken for actual photographs, and they are grouped on backgrounds representing marble, matting and Morocco with pleasing effect.” The firm was described as having been founded when “the press gang, the body snatchers, the ducking stool and the pillory were active institutions”.
