   Aitchison, L.A/C. P., of Church Road, Tweedmouth, 
     who was killed in an operational flight and 
     buried in Normandy, July, 1944.
   Bell, Guardsman R., of 46 Middle Street, Spittal, 
     killed in Normandy, August, 1944. Was at Dunkirk.
   Black, Sergt. D.R., R.T.R., of 14 Tweed Street, 
     Berwick, who died of wounds Oct. 24, 1942, 
     following Middle East desert tank battle.
   Brown, Pte. J.C. son of the late Mr and Mrs 
     Matthew Brown, Grieve Cottage, Tweedmouth, 
     killed in Sept. 1944.
   Clark, Fus. J.W., R.N.F. Son of Mrs Frank Scott, 
     West Street, Berwick, died as prisoner of 
     war in Jap. hands, 1943.
   Davidson, Sgt. W., H.L.I. Son of Mr and Mrs D. Davidson, 
     Fallodon Terrace, Tweedmouth, who died of wounds 
     received in North-West Europe, Sept., 1944.
   Demee, L/Bdr. R., R.A., of 37 Main Street, Spittal, 
     who died of wounds, Nov. 23, 1943, received in 
     action in Italy.
   Dempsey, S/Sgt. W.L., of "Dalveen", Castle Drive, 
     Berwick, serving in the K.O.S.B., was killed in 
     Normandy, June, 1944.
   Derry, Leading Boy, of 58 Union Park Road, Tweedmouth, 
     one of the 800 victims of the sinking of 
     H.M.S. Royal Oak in October, 1939.
   Dixon, Seaman G.J., of 55 St. George's Road, Berwick, 
     killed in action in January, 1944.
   Drysdale, Sgt. John. Son of Mr J. Drysdale, Tweedmouth, 
     wounded in Normandy and died of wounds.
   Farrish, Pte. R.G.W., S.H., of 66 Union Park Road, 
     Tweedmouth, who was killed in action in France 
     in June, 1940.
   Fiddes, F/Sergt. R., R.A.F., of Camphill, Berwick, 
     who was killed in air operations in December, 1943.
   Hall, Fus. Robt., of 3 The Friars, Bamburgh, who was 
     killed in the Middle East in Nov., 1942, having 
     been previously wounded on two occasions.
   Howie, Sgt. G., K.O.S.B. son of Mr and Mrs J. Howie, 
     Gavinton, Duns, killed in North-West Europe, 
     Jan. 1945.
   Hush, Tpr. W., R.A.C., of 20 St Cuthbert's Road, 
     Berwick, who was killed in Normandy, in 
     August, 1944.
   Kellett, L/Cpl. A.M. son of Mr and Mrs David Kellett, 
     West Foulden, Berwick, killed in North-West 
     Europe, Sept. 1944.
   Lough, Pte. Robert of Whitsome, serving in K.O.S.B., 
     was reported missing, presumed drowned, in Nov.,1943
   Lough, Pte. T. of Whitsome, serving in the Cameronians, 
     was killed in Burma, in June, 1944.
   Lyall, Pte. John, B. Reg. Son of Mrs Rowland, 
     94 Castlegate, Berwick, who died of wounds 
     received in action in Burma, March 1945.
   Mabon, S/Lt. (A) Jack youngest son of Mr W. Mabon 
       and Mrs Mabon, Chirnside, killed in flying 
       accident, December, 1944.
   Macrae, Sgt. D., of 13 Knowe Head, Tweedmouth, 
       formerly of K.O.S.B., killed in action in 
       Normandy,August, 1944.
   McLeod, Guardsman W.J., formerly of Berwick, who 
       was killed in action in Italy, in July, 1944.
   Purves, Sergt. T., R.A.F., of 9 Howick Terrace, 
       Tweedmouth, who was killed on May 26, 1944.
   Richardson, L.A/C. A., of Westwood Avenue, Wooler, 
       who died in a military hospital in India 
       in July,1943.
   Sinton, Cpl. G. son of Mr and Mrs Sinton, Church Street, 
       Berwick, killed in North-West Europe, Jan. 1945. 
   Tait, Pte. J. son of Mr and Mrs J. Tait, Brucegate, 
       Berwick, killed in February, 1944, while serving 
       with the Commandos.
   Warner, Pte. H. Son of Mr and Mrs R. Warner, 
       27 Magdalene Drive, Berwick, who was killed in 
       action in North-West Europe, Nov., 1944.
   Welsh, Sgt. T., K.O.S.B. Son of Mr and Mrs W. Welsh, 
       Crispin Road, Berwick, died of wounds received 
       in North-West Europe, Feb. 21, 1945.
   Whitfield, F/Sergt. W., of Scremerston, reported 
       missing on an operational flight, Nov. 1943, 
       and was later reported presumed dead.
   Wood, A.B. Thos. B., of Berwick, a former local 
       Journalist, killed in action in the Straits of 
       Dover, in Oct., 1943.

       Eyemouth, wounded at Clèves, 1945.
   Beveridge, Pte. T., son of the late Mr G. Beveridge 
       and of Mrs Beveridge, Wooler, who was seriously 
       injured in Italy in Sept., 1944.
   Biggar, Dvr. T., R.A.S.C., of 6 Westfield Place, 
       Earlston, who is a prisoner of war in Japanese hands.
   Carr, W/Bdr. J.S. of Newcastle, and formerly of 
       Norham, wounded in action in March, 1944.
   Dixon, Seaman G.K., son of Mrs M. Dixon, 
       55 St. George's Road, Berwick, who lost an eye 
       in action in December, 1943.
   Douglas, Pilot Officer, of Tweedmouth, who baled 
       out over enemy occupied country and was 
       taken prisoner, Oct., 1942.
   Dunlop, Pte. John, K.O.S.B., of 5 Farne Road, 
       Spittal, who was seriously wounded when bomb 
       exploded during practice, July, 1943.
   Elliott, Cpl. Peter, Meadow House, Berwick, 
       wounded while serving with 6th Airborne Division 
       in Normandy, June, 1944.
   Elliott, Fus. R., R.N.F., son of Mr and Mrs Elliott, 
       Norham Castle Gardens, who was taken prisoner 
       at Singapore.
   Emery, L/Sgt. W., son of Mr and Mrs W. Emery, 
       10 Sunnyside Crescent, Spittal, wounded in 
       Burma, June,1944.
   Ferguson, Sgt. James son-in-law of 
       Mr and Mrs A. Hogg, 6 Dock Road, Tweedmouth, 
       twice wounded in action with 8th Army.
   Flannigan, Pte. G., Border Regiment, 
       21 St. Cuthbert's Road, Berwick, taken prisoner 
       of war in Oct., 1944.
   Frizzel, L/Cpl. A., of Traveller's Rest, Tweedmouth, 
       wounded on Oct. 13, 1943, while serving in 
       Central Mediterranean.
   Henderson, Guardsman J., son of Mr and Mrs A. 
       Henderson, Howick Terrace, Tweedmouth, native of 
       Mindrum, wounded in Germany, March, 1945.
   Holloway, Sgt. G., husband of Mrs Holloway, 
       18 Blakewell Road, Tweedmouth, who was taken 
       prisoner at St. Valery, 1940.
   Hope, Fus. G., R.N.F., former Berwick Rangers 
       captain, of Howick Terrace, Tweedmouth, 
       taken prisoner by the Germans in 1940.
   Jefferson, Pte. Adam, son of Mr and Mrs Adam 
       Jefferson, Sea View, Berwick, wounded in 
       Burma, June, 1944.
   Johnston, Fus. T., R.N.F. Son of Mr and Mrs T. P. 
       Johnston, Palace Green, Berwick, taken prisoner 
       by the Japs at Singapore.
   Lowrie, Sergt. M., of Anti-Tank Regiment, 
       husband of Mrs Lowrie, Main Street, Lowick, 
       taken prisoner by the Japs.
   McLachlan, Pte. S.J., son of Mrs J. Devine, 
       Magdalene Drive, Berwick, wounded in Holland 
       in Dec., 1944.
   Oliver, Pte. James, K.O.S.B., of 19 Earlsmeadow, 
       Duns, serving with the 8th Army, was wounded 
       in April,1944.
   Percy, Tpr. J. eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Percy, 
       30 St Cuthbert's Road, Berwick, wounded in 
       North-West Europe, March, 1945.
   Purves, Cpl. W.H., of 37 Ord Drive, Tweedmouth, 
       severely wounded, having leg amputated; 
       repatriated from Italy, April, 1943.
   Ryan, Fus. John, R.N.F. Son of Mr and Mrs T. Ryan, 
       Easington, Belford, who was taken prisoner 
       by the Japs at Singapore.
   Ryan, Cpl. Thos. Son of Mr and Mrs T. Ryan, 
       Easington, Belford, who was taken prisoner 
       by the Japs at Singapore. 
   Scott, Flying Officer I., son of Mr and Mrs 
       Wm. Scott, Chirnside, wounded on operational 
       flight over Germany, April, 1945.
   Scott, Pte. L., of Highfields Estate, Berwick, 
       prisoner of war and repatriated, arriving 
       home in Sept., 1944.
   Smith, Pte. Albert, of Blakewell Road, Tweedmouth, 
       wounded in battle of El Alamein, and had leg amputated.
   Suthren, Gnr. R., R.H.A., of Middle Street, Spittal, 
       who was prisoner of war in Italian hands for 
       2½ years and escaped.
   Tait, Fus. A., son of Mr and Mrs Tait, Earle Mill, 
       Wooler, who was wounded in Italy in June, 1944.
   Turnbull, Piper G., K.O.S.B., of 4 St. Andrew's Road, 
       Berwick, wounded in Normandy in July, 1944.
   Wood, Sgt. R., of 1 St. Andrew's Road, Berwick, 
       wounded and taken prisoner, 1940, repatriated 
       October, 1943.
