In Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres is the Commonwealth War Grave of 14809 Private William Cook, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 22/03/1916.

Alnwick Gazette Almanack Roll of Honour 1918 says that he came from South Broomhill.

The name of William Cook does not appear on any local memorial.
