Son of Florence Gash, of West Cornforth.

58 Squadron was seconded to, and finally became part of Coastal Command. Sgt. Kay’s name appears in Volume 9, which is the Index to RAF Bomber Command Losses series by W.R. Chorley. His name cannot be found in any of the RAF Bomber Command or Coastal Command series of books.

John Kay is remembered at Cornforth on C115.03 and at Sedgefield on S119.03
