In St. Saver Cemetery Extension Rouen, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2735 / 760982 Gunner Joseph Doughty Bowman serving with the A section 285th Brigade Royal Field Artillery who died 25/10/1917.

Joseph Doughty Bowman was born in 1898 at West Cornforth the son of George and Mary.

Joseph enlisted at Ferryhill. He died of wounds at Rouen hospital. His parents added "At rest" to his headstone.

Joseph Bowman is remembered at Cornforth C115.01 and C115.03
