Heslop's Local Advertiser 24/08/1917

In Achiet-le-Grand Communal Cemetery Extension is the Commonwealth War Grave of 325060 Private W. Hart, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 10/07/1917.

Heslop's Local Advertiser 24/08/1917 carries the notice:
"Private William Hart, D.L.I. died on active service abroad on July 10th. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart, 28 Heworth Avenue, Pelaw."

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Newcastle, enlisted in Felling and lived in Sunderland.

He is remembered in Sunderland on on S140.048 page 24 and S140.148
