S.M. Marfleet
Air Gunner
Royal Air Force
7 May 1943 age 20

Sgt. Marfleet was serving with 29 OTU. He was a crew member of Wellington III BK441 which took off from North Luffenham on a night cross country training exercise. The aircraft encountered low cloud and crashed near St. John’s Chapel, Co. Durham. All the crew were killed.
