Ridley was born on 11th February 1894. He was working as a miner living with his parents, Nichol and Mary Elizabeth at Pitt Houses, Prestwick, Ponteland when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 17th November 1914.
He joined the Collingwood Battalion on 9th May 1915 and was killed in action in Gallipoli on 4th June 1915.
Ridley Robinson is remembered in Ponteland on P12.08 and P12.10
