Morpeth Herald 08/12/1916 carries a brief obituary:

MILITARY FUNERAL AT PONTELAND

The interment of Rifleman Jas. Stobert, King’s Royal Rifles, who died from wounds received in action, took place at Ponteland Churchyard with military honours. Deceased was the eldest son of Mr Henry Stobert, Ponteland, and was very highly respected. Rifleman Stobert, who was 23 years of age, was married only eight months ago. The coffin, covered with the Union Jack, was carried to the grave by four soldiers, led by a firing party, and the “Last Post” was sounded at the conclusion of the service. The Rev. Marshall Limon and the Rev. Percival Spencer officiated at the service in the Wesleyan Church, and the Vicar, (the Rev. T.W. Langton) at the graveside.

He is remembered in Ponteland on P12.08 and P12.10
