Barnes, D.J., A/Smn., 1918
In Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of Tyneside Z/1882 Able Seaman David J. Barnes, serving in the Anson Battalion, Royal Navy Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, who died 27/09/1918.

Son of John and Margaret Barnes, of Bell Villa, Ponteland, Newcastle-on-Tyne.

His story is told in: Sobo, M.E., We Will Remember Them: The story of the men on the Ponteland War Memorial, Ponteland Parish Council, 2005, page 10. Private publication.

David John Barnes is remembered in Ponteland on P12.08 and P12.10
