Bill Riccalton has supplied the following:
Kenneth Nicholson, who is remembered on a gravestone in the churchyard, was the son of Ralph and Florence Nicholson. The Nicholson parents came to live in Longhorsley from Newcastle when they bought the house known as the Retreat in 1946.
