Morpeth Herald 28/05/1915 carries a brief obituary:
Mr and Mrs Noble, of Longhirst, have received official notification through the War Office of the death of their son, James Noble, private in the [King’s Own Scottish Borderers], killed in action on May 13th [sic] in the Dardanelles, at a place not stated. He completed six years’ service in January last.
He is remembered in Longhirst on L27.01 and in Morpeth on M7.17 and M17.31
