In Aval Wood MilitaryCemetery, Vieux-Berquin is the Commonwealth War Grave of 29618 Corporal Alexander Simpson Curry Tully, serving with the East Yorkshire Regiment who died 29/06/1918.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Hawnby, Yorks, and that he enlisted in Morpeth. He served with the Northumberland Fusiliers before transferring to the East Yorkshire Regt.

He is remembered in Longhirst on L27.01
