In Chevington Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Tyneside Z/4301 Able SeamanG. Trueman serving with the Howe Battalion R.N. Division Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 30/11/1916.

The headstone reads:

He gave his all

In loving memory of
William Lumley
21.2.1918 – 27.11.2000
Also his dear wife
Marjorie
(nee Trueman)
30.4.1920 – 1.2.1984

In proud
remembrance of
George Trueman
who died from wounds in
King George Hospital London
Nov. 30th 1916 aged 19½ years

George Trueman
The son of George and Jemima Trueman of 108 South Broomhill, he died in London from wounds sustained in the Dardanelles and is buried in Chevington Cemetery.
