Air Crash Northumberland Gray, Corbett, Shipley & Anderson, 2008, Countryside Books, ISBN 978 1 84674 112 8 gives account of the crash of a Stirling at Amble in 1943 killing five children. One of the crew, Warrant Off. George Kerr was one of the crew who died.

My father was the sole survivor of the crash and badly injured- flying again within 10 weeks.
All crew killed and five children.
My father was decorated as a result of this sad incident.
