Desmond Cody Byrne was a crew member of Mosquito T.3 VT587 which crashed while carrying out a slow roll during practice for a Battle Of Britain Display. The aircraft stalled and crashed near the base.

Both Pilot and passenger F/Off. C. Johnson MB BS were killed.
