On the Loos Memorial is the name of 15761 Private Richard Brown, serving with the Somerset Light Infantry who died 25/09/1915.

He was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, enlisted in Amble and resided in Acklington. He formerly served with the Northumberland Fusiliers with the service number of 14514,
