James was born on 1st March 1886 and was working as a ropemaker living with his mother, Elisabeth, at 50, Stanley Street, Willington Quay when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 23rd November 1914.
He joined the Anson Battalion on 24th February 1915 and was posted as missing, presumed killed in action on 4th June 1915 in Gallipoli.
James Pearson Caisley is remembered in Willington Quay on W56.03 and W56.05
