Burns, A., A/Smn., 1915
In Lancashire Landing Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of KP/291 Able Seaman Andrew Burns, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 21/06/1915.

Colin Boyd has submitted the following:

Andrew was born on 15th August 1887 and was working as a carpenter's labourer. He was living with his wife, Helen, at 62, Bedford Street, North Shields when he enlisted in the Yorks and Lancs Regiment on 5th September 1914.

Following his transfer to the RNVR on 10th September 1914 Andrew was posted to the Drake Battalion and served in Gallipoli until he died from the effects of a gun shot wound to the head in No. 11 Casualty Clearing Station on 21st June 1915.

Andrew Burns is remembered in Tynemouth on T36.14 page 6.
