In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Edward
beloved husband of Emily Nicholson
aged 34 years
The above Emily aged 34 years
Ivy Hastie Nicholson
their daughter aged 8 years.
All killed by enemy action
4th May 1941.

They are remembered in North Shields on N34.56
