In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving remembrance of
Margaret Defty
who died Mar. 28th 1924
aged 58 years.
also Henry John,
husband of the above
who died Sep. 5th 1931
aged 72 years.
also William,
son of the above
who died of wounds
received in France
Aug. 2nd 1916 aged 25 years.

He is remembered in Tynemouth on T36.14 page 9
