In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

Sacred
to the
memory
of
Edward Burn
who died March 25th 1913
aged 75 years.
also
John Redpath Burn,
son of the above who was
lost at sea on wreck of the
S.T. Naval Prince December 10th
1915 aged 50 years.
also
Margaret,wife of the above
John Redpath Burn
who died January 9th, 1923
aged 57 years.
also
Fus. Norman Burn R.N.F.
son of the above
who died of wounds in
Tobruk June 18th 1942
aged 31 years
also son
Ernest Burn
who died October 5th 1977
aged 69 years
beloved husband of Minnie.

There is no CWGC entry for John Redpath Burn. Was he a serving man or was he unlucky to be travelling on a ship which was sunk?
