In Tynemouth (Preston) cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In memory of
James Wallace
Wheldon
Aged 50 years
Who died as the result
Of enemy action
4th May 1941
Peace perfect peace

He is remembered in North Shields on N34.56 where his name is spelled “Weldon” as is also the CWGC entry.
