In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of:

Some records indicate that he was a Bandmaster

He was the son of Henry and Mary Sharp born at North Shields. A Relieving Officer, he was Initiated into 2327 St Oswin Lodge, Freemasons Hall, Norfolk Street, North Shields on the 16th December 1912; Passed 20th January 1913 and Raised on the 17th March 1913. He was the husband of E.A. Sharp of 5 Delaval Avenue, Balkwell, North Shields.

Enlisting at Longbenton, he died at Hipswell Camp Catterick 4th October 1916 aged 40. He is buried in Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery, Tynemouth, Northumberland, Grave Reference C.U. 8795.

Newcastle Journal 06/10/1916 reports his death having been home on leave. He was a Relieving Officer for the North Shields district of Tynemouth Union and had been Bandmaster of Tynemouth Workhouse boys' band. He left a widow and five children.

He is remembered on the Masonic Roll of Honour
