In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In memory of
Alexina Hodgson
Aged 26 years
Violet Hodgson
Aged 19 years
Elizabeth Hodgson
Aged 5 years
Henry Hodgson
Aged 2 years
Who died as the result
Of enemy action
4th May 1941

Peace perfect peace

There is also a private headstone which reads:

In memory of my dear
wife and children
Alexina Hodgson
aged 26 years
Betty, aged 5
Henry, aged 2
also my sister Violet
aged 18 years.

They are remembered in North Shields on N34.56
