Bid me good morning.
F/Sgt. Merrow was serving with 61 Squadron. He was a crew member of Lancaster I NF912 QR- which took off from Skellingthorpe on a mission to Siegen. However, the port outer engine cut on take-off. The pilot managed to do a circuit and touched down, but there was an explosion, killing six men with one injured.
