James Albert Gordon was the son of Francis John and Frances Jane Gordon, of 12, Denwell Terrace, Pontefract, Yorks.

He was in the 4th Detachment Tank Corps with the Service Number 76844, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Order of St. George 4th Cl. (Russia).
